In 2006, Situ received his third Artists’ Choice Award from the Masters of the American West, Autry National Center, Los Angeles, CA. He adds it to seven other awards he has taken at the event. Situ, who is a Master Signature Member of the Oil Painters of America and award-winning member of the California Art Club, is known for his contemporary genre scenes set in rural China and for history paintings of the Chinese emigrant experience in the Americas. He earned his BFA and MFA from the Guangzhou Institute of Fine Art, Guangdong Province, China, where he also worked as an art instructor for six years.
