Phillip M. Haozous (b. b. 1941)  Artworks >>

Enlisted soldier, radar specialist, actor, Indian flute maker, flutist and jeweler are some of the occupations Phillip Haozous has had in his lifetime. Although he completed an apprenticeship in jewelry at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe and even won awards for his silver, it was not until he began to sculpt that he found his true calling. Haozous made his first debut in sculpture at Figarelli Fine Arts in Scottsdale, Arizona in the winter of 2004. Although one would expect his designs to be strongly influenced by his father's work, Phillip Haozous' simple, fluid figures stand on their own. He is influenced by both his ancestry and his international travels including Italy, Africa and South America. Reference: askart.com
