Signed l/l: Carlos Hall Taos "This original painting of the late Roy W. Bernal of Taos Pueblo by Carlos Hall is more than a colorful portrait of a Taos Pueblo leader, but rather the reflection of a warm friendship, admiration and mutual respect that existed between these two men. Roy's Taos Pueblo gallery, "The Casual Indian" featured and sold original paintings by Carlos. They even collaborated on a poster featuring Carlos' art and Roy's gallery. Their business and personal friendship lasted until Carlos' passing in 1997, where Roy was asked by Sandra Hall, Carlos' wife, to speak at his memorial. There, Roy lovingly spoke of "Carlos' clouds", referring to the bold and fluffy clouds Carlos would often incorporate in his paintings. Since Roy's passing in 2012, this magnificent work is really a tribute to their special friendship." by Camille Bernal, Roy Bernal's daughter.
