He has exhibited at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage and the Danada Sculpture Invitational in Chicago. ---------------------------------------------------------------------Artist Vic Riesau did not begin his career in art until after retiring from the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department after 25 years of service. Riesau decided to pursue his long time hobby after a year of retirement. Riesau is an accomplished painter, sculptor and art teacher in Temple City, California. Riesau is a plein air painter who often paints the Sierras in his home state of California. He paints from natural impression rather than relying on academic guidelines. The artist enjoys the challenge of the artistic process. "...I'm primarily interested in the artistic aspect within the framework of realism. If I see an artistic possibility, then I'll follow through and do it." Riesau shares his studio with his son who has worked with his father for the past 20 years. Together they are producing and selling replicas of California Peace Officers Memorial, which Riesau created with proceeds benefiting the widows and children of officers who have died in the line of duty.
