Raised in a Navy family, Ed saw much of the world during his youth. His senior year in high school was spent with his cousin in New York, who was a successful commercial artist, and wanted to encourage Ed's love of art by exposing him to the finest galleries and museums in Manhattan. After high school Ed returned to Texas and pursued a highly successful and award winning commercial illustrator career for many years. At this time Ed decided to further his art education and did so pursuing his studies in the mountain west at BYU. While there he also developed a love of Western Art which continues today. Ed, however never lost his love for Portraiture from his days in New York, and once again decided to pusue his art education and was accepted on a scholarship into the Masters of Fine Art program at Utah State University. After two years Ed returned to Texas to pursue Painting Portraits for many years. He moved to Arizona sixteen years ago and pursues his painting career in Western Art, and Oil Portraits of Distinction.
