Winner of two national competitions in 2001, Clyde Morgan has been selected by the Dale Earnhardt Tribute Committee to create a larger-than-life bronze statue of Earnhardt. It will be installed in a commemorative part in Kannapolis, the driver's home town. Morgan created a 7 1/2 foot statue of Herbert "Herb" R. Drinkwater, Scottsdale, Arizona's former mayor. Showing Drinkwater in his trademark Stetson hat, bolo tie and blue jeans, accompanied by his German shepherd, Sadie, leaning against a fence post. It is placed near the lagoon in front of Scottsdale's City Hall at 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. Morgan also was chosen to create public sculpture about the history of Sedona, Arizona to pay tribute to the founding of the Cowboy Artists of America. Source
