Robert Dale Tsosie (b. 1960)  Artworks >>

Born and raised in Santa Fe to a Pueblo Picuris mother and Navajo father, sculptor Robert Tsosie was influenced in the subjects of his artwork by his visits to the reservations. He began crafting jewelry as a child and later apprenticed to metal sculptor Charles Pratt, a major influence. Tsosie was a student from 1989 to 1991 at the Institute of American Indian Arts where he came to admire European modernists Henry Moore and Constantin Brancusi. Living 40 miles north of Santa Fe in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Robert Tsosie (in 2002) leads a solitary, regular life and frequently exhibits at Indian Market in Santa Fe. Source
