Kay M. Hendricks (1925 - 2005)  Artworks >>

Kay Hendricks is a painter of historical objects of the American West in a "trompe l'oeil" style. He likes to depict items that old West people might have used. Hendricks began painting when he was nine, and helped on his uncle's ranch during summers until he got a job as a trail guide at age fifteen. During World War Two, he served in the cavalry in Europe, and then worked as a saddlemaker until 1955. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona, and from 1959 to 1968 worked as a technical editor for a publication and engaged in painting as a hobby.
