To the unaided eye, this piece appears to be in very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals three areas that show signs of restoration. Two of these are located near the center of the left edge of the piece. They are both approximately 1/2" in length. The third area that shows signs of restoration is near the center of the lower edge, about 3" up. It consists of a number of pinhead sized touch ups. In October 2006, Las Negras, Dallas, TX did the following restoration work: removed varnish, relaxed full canvas, lined with mylar and monofilament interleafs with linen back, and re-varnish. The piece is framed in a gold leafed molding that is in good condition for its age. There are some abrasions and chips in the gold leaf throughout. Verso: [handwritten on backing] Jerry Taos
