This painting appears to be in good condition. To the unaided eye, there are small flakes of missing pigment at the lower left measuring approximately 1/16th inch. At the upper right there is a scratch measuring 1 1/2 inch. Along the right side, there are pressure marks with subtle pigment cracking. Under UV, there is a long drip, possibly in the varnish, running almost the entire length, along the left side. There is a small circular stain measuring 1/2 at upper center and craquelure that appears to be stable along the right edge. The painting is framed in a rustic gold and brown panel, separating at the corners. The linen liner is discolored. Verso: artist's stamp: 986, Morning Stage, Reproduction Rights.
