This painting is in very good condition. Close inspection with the unaided eye reveals a very small area in the upper left with hairline cracks in the pigments. Close inspection under UV light reveals a normal fluorescence of artist pigments and no signs of restoration. Work is framed in a carved antique gold panel with a narrow linen liner. The frame is in very good condition with little wear. Verso: appraisal information is provided on the back: 21. ONE OIL ON CANVAS, untitled (Northern New Mexico village winter scene), Carl Von Hassler, measuring 25 ½" high x 31 ½" wide. This more closely resembles the usual von Hassler in that an adobe village is placed amidst cottonwood trees in a valley beneath snow capped mountains. In this painting in particular, the village is placed near bottom center with cottonwoods at right and at left. This appears to be early winter as the cottonwood trees still possess rust colored leaves. Signed lower left "Von Hassler"
Signed l/l: Von Hassler
