This painting is in good condition. Close inspection with the unaided eye reveals signs of restored craquelure. The work has been relined and the pigments are stable. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a large amount of over painting throughout the blue sky and clouds portion of this painting. There is more recent inpainting near the waterfall in along the top edges of the canyon walls. The following areas of reveal recent inpainting when viewed under UV light: In the lower left, approximately 3 inches from the left along the very bottom edge, approximately 1 by 1 ½ inches, the lower right, 4 inches from the right along the lower edge, approximately 1 by 1 inch, near the waterfall, 14 inches from the right, 18 inches from the bottom, approximately 1 ½ by ¾ inches, an area 7 inches from the right, 18 inches from the bottom, approximately ½ by ½ inches, an area 14 inches from the right, and an area 5 inches from the top edge, approximately 1 inch in diame
