This painting is in very good condition. Close inspection under UV light reveals a few small areas of over-painting in the mountains located in the lower left. The most prominent area is a band approximately 1 1/4 inches tall by 1/4 inch wide. The canvas looks like the original and the work has not been relined. Restoration has been done at the Texas Conservation Center at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum in Canyon Texas. The work is framed in a carved gold frame. The frame is in very good condition with little wear. Verso: attached in a clear sleeve is an old section of cardboard backing. Inscribed on this cardboard is the following: Storm Clouds Over Taos Mountain. Label: The Texas Conservation Center Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, Canyon, Texas
