The painting is in good condition. There is craquelure throughout the piece. There is a 4 inch long scratch at the bottom of the painting at the center. Paint has been rubbed on the right side in approximatley a 1 inch spot 1/3 of the way up from the bottom.

With UV light there are several spots of inpainting. a 1/16 inch spot 2 inches above the signature, 2 inches below the center white horse’s front hoof there is a 1/8 inch spot, 1 1/2 inches below the red horse’s front hoof a 1/8 inch spot, 4 inches from the bottom on the right side and 1/4 of the way into the painting ther is a 1/8 inch spot, and at far right horse’s foremost leg a 1/16 inch spot.

The wood frame with beading detail and linen liner is in good condition. There is beading detail on the inner most and outter most edges of the frame. Some of the beading has been chipped off at the outter edges.
