Henry Rifle Serial Number 2291, belonging to Texas Ranger Captain James B. Gillett (1856-1937). Gillett was a famous Ranger Captain who fought Apache and Comanche Indians as well as cattle thieves and outlaws. He was the city Marshal of El Paso, Texas and was known as a fearless lawman. His memoirs written in 1921 Six Years with the Texas Rangers is still in print today and was used as a textbook in schools in 17 states. This Henry rifle comes with a notarized affidavit from the Gillett family mentioning the gun by serial number. Also included is a copy of the Book ¬Six Years in the Texas Rangers.
Capt. James R. Gillett (1856-1937) fought Apache and Comanche Indians; he was the City Marshall of El Paso, TX. Notarized affadavit from the Gillett family. Gillett's memoirs, "Six Years in the Texas Rangers" included.
